Paying attention to AI from cruising altitude…
This blog started in seat 1A, somewhere around 50,000 feet in the air.
Not in a lab.
Not after a strategy retreat.
Not once everything was figured out.
Just a window seat, forward of the noise, watching the ground shift below and realizing something simple:
this AI moment isn’t waiting for us to be ready.
From cruising altitude, patterns are easier to see. You’re removed from the turbulence, but you still feel the speed. That’s the perspective I want to bring here—clear-eyed, practical, curious, and human.
A1 at 50K is a place to think out loud about generative AI:
what it makes possible, what it disrupts, what it amplifies, and what it demands of us.
I’m not here to predict the future.
I’m here to pay attention while it unfolds.

Who I Am
For those who don’t know me, I’ve spent my career at the intersection of technology, data, and real-world decision-making. I’ve worked as a developer, analyst, architect, and technology leader—primarily in mission-driven organizations where efficiency, clarity, and impact actually matter.
I’ve seen technology waves come and go: client-server, ERP, data warehouses, cloud, analytics, automation. Some delivered on their promises. Many didn’t. Most were misunderstood in their early days.
Generative AI feels different—not because it’s magical, but because it fundamentally changes who gets leverage from technology. The barrier to entry is collapsing. The speed of improvement is accelerating. And the implications—for work, learning, creativity, and leadership—are enormous.
I’m approaching AI with equal parts curiosity, skepticism, and responsibility. I care about usefulness more than novelty, outcomes more than demos, and wisdom more than speed.
Why This Blog
This blog is my thinking space.
It’s where I’ll test ideas, share experiments, reflect on failures, and connect dots between technology, work, leadership, and humanity. Sometimes the posts will be practical. Sometimes philosophical. Sometimes speculative. Always honest.
If you’re curious about AI but overwhelmed…
If you’re experimenting but unsure where it leads…
If you want to engage thoughtfully rather than react fearfully…
You’re in the right place.
AI isn’t a destination. It’s a journey. Let’s walk it—eyes open—together.
